Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 30, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage mechanisms Documentric (“we”, “our”, or “us”) uses when you visit documentric.com and use our service. We keep it short because we keep our cookie usage minimal.

1. What Cookies and Storage We Use

Documentric uses only two types of browser storage — one cookie and one localStorage key. Neither is used for advertising or analytics tracking.

1.1 Authentication cookie (Supabase session)

PropertyDetail
Namesb-[project-ref]-auth-token
TypeHTTP cookie (first-party)
PurposeKeeps you signed in to your Documentric account between page loads
ScopeSession-scoped — expires when you sign out or the session expires
Required?Yes — the app cannot function without this cookie when you are signed in
PartiesFirst-party only (Supabase, our database provider, sets it on our domain)

This cookie is set only when you sign in to a Documentric account. If you use Documentric without an account (anonymous free tier), this cookie is not set.

1.2 Anonymous quota — localStorage key

PropertyDetail
Keyanon_quota
TypelocalStorage (not a cookie)
PurposeStores the number of exports you have used in the current 24-hour window as an anonymous user
Personal dataNone — contains only a count and a timestamp. No name, email, or device identifier.
ScopePersists in your browser until you clear localStorage or after 7 days
PartiesFirst-party only — this value never leaves your browser except as part of an API request to our server

This localStorage entry is used only for unauthenticated users on the free tier. Once you sign in to an account, your quota is tracked server-side and this key is no longer read.

2. What We Do NOT Use

We do not use any of the following:

  • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any Google tracking cookie. We do not load GA4, Universal Analytics, or any Google pixel.
  • Advertising cookies or pixels. No Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Twitter/X Pixel, or any other advertising network tracker.
  • Third-party analytics platforms. No Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar, FullStory, Heap, or similar session-recording or event-tracking tools.
  • Marketing or remarketing cookies. We do not build advertising audiences from your visits.
  • A/B testing or personalisation cookies. No Optimizely, VWO, or similar tools that set third-party cookies.

In short: if you load any page on documentric.com, the only cookie that may be set is the Supabase authentication cookie — and only if you are signed in.

3. How to Manage Cookies and localStorage

3.1 Clearing cookies in your browser

You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. The steps vary by browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All.
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.

Clearing the Supabase authentication cookie will sign you out of Documentric. You will need to sign in again on your next visit.

3.2 Clearing localStorage

You can clear localStorage from your browser's developer tools (Application tab → Storage → Local Storage → documentric.com → Delete). You can also clear all site data from your browser settings alongside cookies (see above).

Clearing the anon_quota key will reset your anonymous export count for the current window.

3.3 Using without cookies

If you use Documentric without creating an account, no cookies are set at all. The service operates entirely through localStorage and server-side session tokens passed in request headers. You can use the free tier — including uploading and converting files — in a private/incognito browsing window with cookies blocked.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features that require additional storage. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify signed-in users by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We will never add third-party advertising or tracking cookies without prominently disclosing the change and, where required by law, obtaining your consent first.
